Frequently Asked Questions:
Question:
1. My daughter and I want to take lessons - she is being home-schooled
and we like the idea of learning online to fit our schedules. However
we have no prior guitar teaching. Knowing absolutely nothing - will
your program take us through the basics? Thanks You - T. R
Answer:
No prior guitar education is required to begin this course. You will
get the basics plus much more!!
Question:
Could you please tell me how long the average guitar lesson is? I could
not find that information on your website.
Thank you,
H.B.
Answer: The length of lesson varies between 25 – 40 minutes.
You have the privilege of viewing the lesson again and again, if you
think I have moved too quickly. Just push the repeat button at the end
of the lesson and you will view it all from beginning to end.
Once the movie has started, it cannot be stopped until the end.
When the lesson is completed, you will receive in your e-mail, a set
of notes of material covered plus an assignment to practice.
Question:
Do you mean that for $25, one gets ALL the lessons, or do you mean that
EACH lesson costs $25?
Answer:
Each lesson is $25.00. When you consider the traditional guitar lesson
costs $15-25.00/lesson, and you get a chord and maybe a note. Well in
6 lessons you'd have about 8 chords, if you're lucky and might I add
at the cost of $120. - 150.
This curriculum is accelerated, in that in just the first 6 lessons
you will be playing over 100 chords plus a lot more!! Six lessons are
$150.00
However, if you want to learn the traditional way at one chord a lesson,
for the same price, well I could arrange that too! but that would be
an insult to your intelligence, so forget that!
Question:
Hi I was looking at your website and am wondering if lessons are available
to Canadian customers? What would be the cost? How many lessons are
there?
Thanks – J.G.
Answer:
All lessons are available anywhere in the world where there is a computer
on line!
The price is established in American dollars at $25.00 per lesson.
There are 34 lessons available on line presently.
Question:
I can’t seem to buy any lesson I want. Why not?
T.H.
Answer:
This curriculum is accelerated. For you to get the full benefits of
the course, it is designed to start at the beginning Level 1 –
lesson 1, and take each lesson in order, because every lesson builds
on the previous one. You will be missing major information by jumping
in where ever you like. It is designed with your progress in mind.
If you already play the guitar, and don’t know in which level
you should begin, contact us at contact@theguitarfoundation.com . We
will assess you, and flag you in at the appropriate level and lesson.
Question:
Hello - recently bought a guitar for a grandson and want to pay for
lessons for him..how can I do this?
Answer:
All lessons are purchased through our very secure e-commerce site, by
means of a
Credit card.
Question:
…. can you go back to the lesson at different times until you
master it or is this a one time shot?
Thank you. S.Q.
Answer:
I do not recommend you purchasing a lesson for the second time. You
receive a professional set of notes in your e-mail, with an assignment
for you to work on during the week. If you have a specific question,
or don’t understand something, send an e-mail to contact@theguitarfoundation.com
and you will be answered in a timely manner.
Question:
We are interested in your program. But I need to know what our computer
capabilities need to be ….
Thank you L.S.
Answer:
All you need is access to the internet as you already have and the latest
version of Macromedia Flash Plugin. If you do not have the current version
of the plugin the site is set up to automatically prompt you to download
it. Sound is used during the teaching so you will need to be on a computer
with a sound card installed. That's it!
Question:
if the program is non stoppable? then if I have to go leave then can
i come back to the same lesson? or if I don’t master that lesson
do I have to pay for the same lesson again?
Answer:
Each lesson is animated, and runs like a movie. It is non-stoppable,
so we strongly suggest you arrange your time when you take the lesson
to be un-interrupted!!
You will not master the lesson during the lesson time! That’s
why you get a professional set of notes to go over during the week,
and play the assignment to get the practice you need, pertaining to
the material that was covered. It is suggested you practice at least
45 minutes a day, to begin with.
I do not recommend you purchase the lesson again.
Question:
Hi there! I am interested in learning how to play. I played the piano
when I was a child for 8 years and also the flute for 5 years. Can you
tell me what type of a guitar I should get for myself and my 13 year
old son if he will be interested in the near future?
Thanks. V.G
Answer:
I tend to recommend a slim-lined necked guitar – it makes for
easier handle-ability.
The electric guitars are the easiest to play, as it’s basically
just touch.
However the acoustic guitars require a bit more hand strength, which
is no problem because of the specialized finger exercises which are
incorporated in each lesson. They help to build the strength and independence
into each finger.
I prefer to have ‘low action’ on the strings – this
is done by a guitar technician.
